Wasilly Brown leather Chair by Marcel Breuer

Wasilly Brown leather Chair by Marcel Breuer

Wasilly Chair designed by Marcel Breuer with brown leather upholstery. The Wasilly Chair, also known as the B3, was the first tubular chair on the market, initially produced and distributed between 1926 and 1929 by the Austrian firm Thonet until Second World War, when the firm stopped production.

Marcel Breuer designed this chair while he was head of the carpentry workshop at the Bauhaus in Dessau, Germany. Breuer used to go to work by bicycle, which allowed him to observe its handlebars made from tubular steel, a lightweight and strong material, and he thought that this material could also be used for the manufacture of furniture, which led him to the first sketches of the B3 chair.

Its chromed structure has been restored to its original shine. The upholstery shows minimal marks and does not show any breakage.

An iconic design, versatile, timeless and comfortable.
