The Lobby armchair was designed by architect and designer Claude Verney for the firm Modern Design in the 1980s and manufactured in Spain under licence by Ibersit, one of Spain’s leading and most prestigious office furniture companies during the final decades of the 20th century.
A piece featuring spectacular curved lines with a continuous tubular frame in black-painted steel. Its removable salmon-coloured upholstery adds warmth, making the space feel lighter and more welcoming.
The backrest and seat blend seamlessly to create an enveloping silhouette, making it an extremely comfortable and visually light piece.
A surviving example of Spanish postmodern industrial design, capable of blending into different interior styles whilst providing a lovely splash of colour.
This armchair shows no obvious signs of wear.
